Saturday, 27th February 2016 dawned with the very sad news of the demise of Shree 
Bipinchandra Babulal Mehta precisely at 06:14 AM. He was in the hospital for the last few days where he had a successful surgical procedure which turned into complications during recovery. He left for the heavenly abode at the age of 68.
He moved to the UK with his parents, Shree Babulal Ratanshi Mehta [well-known to us all as Pujya Babukaka], in 1968 and completed his studies in Chartered Accountancy.
Shree Bipinbhai used his professional skills to help many individuals and organisations in their quest to become financially independent. He played an important role in the Navnat Building Project: BP2000 to buy a larger property.
He was popularly known in the community as Bipinbhai and for sure Bipinbhai was very popular in the Jain community. He was involved in social service for many years and held several high ranking posts such as:
Patron of the Manuscripts Cataloguing Project of the Institute of Jainology
Trustee, Hon. Secretary & Treasurer of the Institute of Jainology
Trustee and Chair of the Trustee Board of the Navnat Vanik Association of the UK
Executive Committee member of the Navnat Vanik Association of the UK
For his services of over 15 years to the Institute of Jainology and his valuable contribution he was appointed Honorary Patron. In the team led by Shree Ratilal Premchand Chandaria and ably assisted by Shree Nemu Chandaria, Shree Bipinbhai was part of a strong team which undertook many national and international events for the propagation of Jainism.
As an example, he was deeply involved in the ‘Jain Art from India: the Peaceful Liberators’ an exhibition curated at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1995 which was visited by over 55,000 people. There were other events of similar magnitude in the UK and abroad.
Shree Bipinbhai was straightforward in nature and extended his friendship to one and all.
He will be missed, not just by his family, but by the many who received advice and guidance from him, by all the organisations which received voluntary services from Shree Bipinbhai.
We pray for the eternal bliss of the departed soul and for the family to get the resolve to bear this bereavement with calm prayers and equanimity.
