The Vatican held an important conference on Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of Ahimsa to mark his 150th birth anniversary.
The Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue held a day-long conference on October 1st 2019 entitled “Fraternal love and non-violence for global peace and harmony” to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.
Dr Mehool Sanghrajka, the Managing Trustee of the Institute of Jainology, represented the Jain faith, together with representatives from all other major religions. He presented a paper entitled “Gandhi’s Legacy of Ahimsa” (Click here to access it).
On the following day, after the public mass in St Peter’s Square, Dr Sanghrajka was given an opportunity to garland HH the Pope and convey the prayers of the Jain community.
