The Institute of jainology’s Education Team in association with Oshwal Association of the UK’s North West Area held a interactive workshop on ‘Practical Jainism’ on Sunday 19th July at the EKTA Centre, Kingsbury NW London.
This five hour program had been well publicised and was attended by over 150 people ranging in age from 6 years to 60+. It was very pleasing to note that many parents had come with their children – keen to ensure that the children were exposed to our rich heritage of Jain religion.
Considerable effort had been made to ensure that the program would cater for those new to the religious practices and those with traditional grounding in the rituals. Special workshops had been prepared for the children to ensure that not only they enjoyed the day but also went home with something useful.
Detailed report on the workshop is attached.Click here
To celebrate the 25th year since it was established, and as a memento of the day’s events, IoJ presented each family with a set of children’s Jain study books; Discover Jainism and Jain Tales.
The event’s success and popularity can be judged by the number of requests received for both – repeat of the program delivered and for the next stage.
