Kyle Kothari is the first, from a UK Jain family to participate in an Olympics, representing Great Britain and England in competition. Kyle, born on 26 January 1998, in Harrow, North London is the son of Jiten and Arti Kothari, who were originally from Nairobi, Kenya. His grandparents are Chotubhai and Sushilaben. Kyle graduated from London School of Economics with a degree in BSc Geography with Economics in 2019.
Kyle has been representing Great Britain in the Men’s 10m Individual and Synchro Events for nearly a decade consistently ranking in the world`s top 20. He is a Double European Champion, Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist, Junior European Champion and Junior World Bronze Medallist.
Diver Kyle Kothari has defied the odds to make his Olympic debut in Paris 2024. Kyle said his selection was a reward for everyone who had supported him as he battled injuries.
He will compete in the men’s 10m Platform and said: “Not every path to a Games is the same.
“To get here after eight years of injuries and three surgeries is a testament to the sacrifices, endless rehab and support from everyone who believed in me.
“I’m extremely proud of my journey and that’s what makes this selection special.”
Kyle was the 2023 OneJain Award winner for extraordinary achievement. The UK Jain community is extremely proud of Kyle for representing his country and being the first UK Jain Olympian. We wish him every success in his debut at the Paris Olympics 2024
