- Ahimsa: Love for all living beings – violence towards none
- All Life is interdependent – have respect for all
- Anekantvad: Everyone has a right to hold a view

A communique was received from the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Vatican City. The close relationship established with the Vatican has resulted in a regular exchange of greetings on festival days and also exchange of visits by delegates.
